Why does the consumer unit always trip at the same time of day?
It usually matches a pattern of use — for example, when the water heater and the washing machine run at the same time. Our inspection measures the load on each circuit and finds the overload; often the fix is rebalancing circuits or replacing an undersized breaker.
Is it dangerous to reset an RCD that has tripped?
Resetting it once is safe. The danger is insisting when it keeps tripping: the RCD is detecting a real earth leakage, which can mean a risk of electric shock. In that case leave it down and wait for the technician.
Do you replace breakers and RCDs on the spot?
